Remove the Cassette (blinking of slash cassette mark) message in LCD.

Solution

Remove the cassette mark

Load a cassette correctly.

If the slash cassette mark is blinking and the remaining time on the tape is displayed(*)･･･The cassette is protected.

Check whether the position of the protect switch is set to REC.

*On the viewfinder screen, " THE TAPE IS SET FOR ERASURE PREVENTION " lights up for 4 seconds and then blinks red.

If these problems persist even after having attempted the solutions described above, please contact the nearest Canon service center.
