Description : Transfering movies from the camcorder to a computer
Image control and storage software "CONSOLE"


CONSOLE is software that enables you to control a digital camcorder and to record to a computer's hard disk by connecting the camcorder to the computer with an IEEE 1394 (DV) cable.

Note:
CONSOLE is software exclusively for Windows XP (Service Pack 2).



CONSOLE has the following features:

1. The HDV or DV standard movies can be recorded simultaneously on a tape in the camcorder and on the computer's hard disk by pressing the camcorder's <Start/Stop> button. You can control the camcorder to record on the tape and the hard disk simultaneously from the computer.

2. You can specify the camcorder's settings such as for custom pre-set, loading, or recording from the computer. Also, it is possible to adjust movies smoothly at the time of shooting by measuring movies in the waveform vector monitor displayed on the computer.

3. You can preview movies recorded on the computer's hard disk on both the computer's viewer and the camcorder's monitor by replaying them.
Additional editing software is required for editing movies.

4. With CONSOLE, you can copy still images or pre-set files from a memory card in the camcorder to the hard disk from the computer.

Downloading and installation

1. Download the CONSOLE software and the instruction manual from the Canon's Web site for CONSOLE.

2. Follow the instructions on the page to start the installer.

3. Follow the instructions in the downloaded instruction manual to proceed with the installation.

4. When the installation is complete, connect the camcorder to the computer with the IEEE1394 (DV) cable, and then start CONSOLE.

5. Get a license key and register.
