Setting the White Balance (Indoor Outdoor)

 
For indoor or outdoor shooting, you can easily set the white balance by choosing the preset modes.
The standard color temperatures of the preset modes are 5,600ºK for bright outdoor sunlight, and 3,200ºK for indoor incandescent light. You can also fine-tune the preset settings.
The most suitable lighting conditions for the preset modes are:

 
- For outdoor mode:
Shooting night scenes, fireworks, etc.
Shooting the morning sun, sunsets, etc.
- For indoor mode:
Shooting party scenes and other situations under changing lighting conditions.
Shooting studio scenes and other situations under video lights.
Shooting under sodium lamps.


 
Setting the Indoor Outdoor White Balance Modes
 
Set the AWB switch to OFF.
 
Set the WHITE BAL. switch to PRE.
 
Set the WHITE BAL.PRESET switch according to the surroundings.
Set to (5,600ºK bright sunlight) for outdoor settings.
Set to (3,200ºK incandescent light) for indoor settings.
 
* Please perform the following procedures to fine-tune the settings.
Press the WHITE BAL. (SET) button. The color temperature display will start flashing.
 
Turn the (shutter speed / color temperature) dial to a value between –9 and +9.
 
Press the WHITE BAL. (SET) button. The color temperature display stops flashing and stays on.


 


 
If you are not satisfied after trying the procedures described above, please set a custom white balance using a white sheet or paper.
